Your Church Wedding

Getting Married in One of our Churches

Marrying in church is a personal, meaningful and spiritual experience. Churches are special and unique places to get married in – the prayers, promises and the whole service of celebration become part of your marriage, on the day itself and beyond.

We believe that inviting God to be part of your marriage is the best foundation for your life together.

Why get married in Church?

A church is so much more than simply a venue for your wedding. Unique and special things become part of your marriage, on the day itself and beyond:-

Spiritual Dimension

A church wedding will add a spiritual dimension to your marriage. The ceremony includes God and looks to him for help and guidance. God’s blessing is the main difference between a Church wedding and a wedding in a different venue. You are welcome to explore getting married in Church whatever your beliefs.

Amazing Vows

You can make amazing vows, or promises, in a church. You can only make vows this big in a church. These vows, made in public, will help you to stay together and grow together. God and our church communities are there for you to help you keep your vows.

The Vicar

The Vicar has a very particular role to play in your wedding. They can blend ancient tradition and modern experience to reflect your story. Because of the relationship with the Vicar, your wedding can be made personal, memorable, meaningful and beautiful.

And after your wedding, you’ll realise that a church is more than simply a wedding venue. We’ll always be here for you.

Beautiful Setting

Our three Church buildings offer a beautiful setting for your wedding. You can choose to be married in one of our churches – in Holywell, we have the ancient beauty of St James’ Church and the modern setting of St Peter’s or the beautiful and comfortable Holy Trinity Church in Greenfield.

Affordable

Church weddings are also an affordable choice, with reasonable fees that cover the use of the building, the minister and any other people required. Money should never be a barrier to having a wedding in our churches, so please mention to Fr Dominic if you are concerned about money. You can find more information about fees in the leaflet below.
